Law may be just part of your degree or you may be undertaking the LLB or the Diploma, whichever it is, in the main you will wish to have a job at the end of your time here and we can help.
Careers Development Centre
The University's Careers Development Centre (CDC) is situated in Cottrell Building 3A1. It is a fantastic resource. All departments in the university are linked very closely with CDC and we all work together to help our students have the best experience for the workplace and to get the job they are looking for at the end of their degree. Law School Careers Liaison
Lorraine Wilson, Teaching Fellow, is the main contact in the School of Law for career matters.
She posts all information received from employers regarding work experience, placements and traineeships, as well as talks, seminars etc on WebCt where there are general information sites dedicated to each course e.g. BA in Business Law/Law or LLB. The Director of the Diploma also passes on information through her regular newsletters to Diploma students. You are recommended to look at these regularly.
Posters and notices can also be found on the Notice Boards at Airthrey Castle, in the main entrance and Common Room.
Together with CDC, we host lunchtime seminars and workshops on anything from CV writing to becoming a lawyer. There is usually a Careers With Law Seminar in the Spring and we hope to host our first Law Fair soon in collaboration with the student Law Society.

Self Help
There is a lot you can do for yourself by using the Portal, WebCT and the internet. Speak to people within your chosen area of work for the latest information and keep a watch on the recruitment pages of the newspapers.
