The School of Law has a new, proactive and vibrant research culture, and a commitment to excellence in research. In the 2008 Research Assessment exercise all of our research was judged to be of at least national quality, 30% was of international quality, with 35% regarded as of international excellence, and 5% world leading. Staff are actively engaged in research, producing a significant output of major books and articles in leading academic journals.

We welcome applications from those interested in studying for a PhD. Potential applicants should submit a brief proposal outlining their proposed research topic and research methodology together with a completed postgraduate application form
