What is the Spuilzie Forum (22.1.09)

The spuilzie forum is intended to be a place where those interested in reforming or abolishing the law of spuilzie (or these processes themselves) may discuss how best to move forward. The inspiration was the article by Mr. C. Anderson “Spuilzie Today,” 2008 SLT (News) 257 contemplating developing spuilzie. Others are not so sure.
The initial aims are modest – to discover the degree of interest and the willingness of individuals to take parts of the work forward, to disseminate ideas so far as possible while unfunded, to seek appopriate funding for members to pursue their interests in the subject, to disseminate professionally. Perhaps a collaborative draft bibliography of the subject would be possible even in an unfunded state.
Later aims might include a conference and an edited book with a view to passing the final work to the Scottish Law Commission.
